One of the most varied areas in the country, it boasts a rich cultural and natural heritage that attracts many visitors every year.
Visiting Nador
Nador, a port city on Morocco's Mediterranean coast, attracts thousands of tourists every year in search of relaxation, culture and nature. With its splendid beaches, imposing mountains and historic sites, Nador offers visitors a unique experience. As soon as you step off the ferry to Morocco, you'll be captivated by the charm of this most welcoming of towns.
Must-see sites
Nador is prized not only for its breathtaking scenery, but also for its rich cultural heritage. The city welcomes around 500,000 tourists every year, attracted not only by its magnificent beaches, but also by its nature walks and iconic sites.
The Selouane Kasbah
The Selouane Kasbah is a fortification built in the 17th century that takes visitors on a journey back in time. Perched on a hill overlooking the sea, this medieval fortress bears witness to Moroccan history.
Inside its ramparts, numerous centuries-old stone buildings and remains tell the story of the region. Visitors can stroll through the alleys and admire the traditional architecture with its decorations typical of the period. The Kasbah is also home to a museum where visitors can discover the local cultural heritage.

Heavenly beaches
Nador's beaches are real coastal treasures, attracting thousands of sun-seeking visitors every year. With their crystal-clear waters, fine sand and breathtaking scenery, these beaches are the ideal place to recharge your batteries and recharge your vitamin D levels.
Cala Blanca beach
Cala Blanca beach in Nador offers a spectacular panorama with its azure waters and immaculate white sand. Here you can stroll along the shore, bask in the sun or enjoy a wide variety of water sports. The beach is also lined with small restaurants and cafés where you can savour local specialities while admiring the breathtaking views of the Grande Bleue.
Arekmane beach
Arekmane beach, located near the village of Kariat Arekmane, south of Nador, is one of a kind. Unlike traditional beaches, this one is distinguished by its substrate composed entirely of shells, offering a unique setting.
This geological feature creates a striking seascape, where white, pearly shells replace the traditional sand, giving the beach an exceptional luminosity.

Exceptional natural wonders
The Nador lagoon (Marchica)
The Nador lagoon, also known as Marchica, is a natural jewel on Morocco's Mediterranean coast. This vast expanse of salt water, separated from the sea by a thin barrier beach, offers a peaceful environment, ideal for recharging your batteries and discovering the local biodiversity.
Preserving the lagoon is a priority for the authorities and environmental organisations, who are setting up awareness and conservation programmes to protect biodiversity and maintain the region's ecological balance.
Although the Marchica lagoon is a haven of peace, it is also the centre of a variety of water-based activities, including boat trips, kayaking and paddle boarding.
The hiking trails around the lagoon also allow you to explore the local flora and enjoy panoramic views of the Rif mountains and the Mediterranean.
The Marchica lagoon ornithological park
The Marchica lagoon ornithological park is a real paradise for nature lovers and ornithology enthusiasts. Situated in the heart of the Nador lagoon, this park offers an ideal setting for observing a wide variety of migratory and resident birds. Visitors can stroll along the landscaped paths, lined with lush vegetation, and discover numerous species such as pink flamingos, herons, egrets, etc.

The Cap des Trois Fourches
Located at the north-eastern tip of Morocco, Cap des Trois Fourches is a natural site of striking beauty. This rocky promontory juts proudly into the Mediterranean Sea, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the marine horizon with its sheer cliffs and rock formations sculpted by the elements.
The history of the cape is just as fascinating as its landscape. Once a strategic point for maritime navigation, the remains of watchtowers and lighthouses bear witness to its past importance. Today, Cap des Trois Fourches remains a place where time seems suspended in the face of nature's raw beauty.
Cap des Trois Fourches is also a great place for birdwatching, thanks to the diversity of migratory species that stop off here. Hiking trails along the coast reveal a unique flora due to the arid and windy conditions of the region. Visitors can also explore the secluded coves and pebble beaches, where the peace and quiet is absolute.

The Chaabi spring
Nestling in the Rif mountains, the Chaabi spring is a veritable natural treasure that captivates visitors with its beauty and enchanting setting. Set in a lush green valley, this crystal-clear spring bubbles up from the depths of the earth to create a refreshing oasis in the middle of the arid mountains.
The history of the Chaabi spring is steeped in local legend and tradition. The water from this spring is said to possess miraculous powers, capable of curing various ailments and bringing prosperity. Today, the spring remains a place where visitors can meet and share, recharge their batteries and reconnect with nature.

Mount Gourougou
Rising to an altitude of over 800 metres, Mount Gourougou is a true natural wonder that dominates the landscape of the Nador region. This mountain range offers breathtaking views over the Mediterranean and the surrounding area, attracting hikers and nature lovers alike.
The winding trails that wind through the hills reveal a diversity of flora and fauna, adapted to the arid and windy conditions of the region. Mount Gourougou is also a site of historical and cultural importance. Once a refuge for resistance fighters during the colonial period, it is still home to vestiges of that era, such as caves and natural shelters. Visitors can explore these sites while learning about the rich and complex history of the region.
